OMTEC Trade Mission – The world’s largest Orthopaedics Supply Chain Conference.

More than 100 of the orthopaedics industry’s top suppliers will be attending this June’s OMTEC 2012 in Chicago.
with big names including Stryker, Zimmer, Medtronic and Biomet already confrmed. A combined initiative by Sheffeld City Region and Leeds City Region LEPs, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and Medilink, this trade mission gives companies in the orthopaedics sector a fantastic opportunity to network with senior decision makers from the global industry.
As well as giving delegates full access to the OMTEC exhibition, networking sessions and conference, the package on offer also includes one-to-one meetings arranged by UKTI Chicago, fights and accommodation.
UKTI Market Visit Support grants are available to eligible companies taking part in the mission.

Eco-Fair: Five weeks away

eco-fair is the largest environmental event in the North of England. The fair focuses on real business issues and best practice case studies. The themes for 2012 are waste, energy, greener buildings and strategy. Additional bite-sized support sessions will be running all day on travel costs and environmental regulations.

Knowledge Transfer Network: Regional Innovation Workshop

Defra and the Technology Strategy Board are launching the Innovate for Growth competition, providing up to twenty £25k grants for innovative SMEs across the farming, food and drink industries. This funding will support the rapid development of an innovative idea and demonstrate its practical feasibility.
To promote this in the Yorkshire region, the Biosciences Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is organising a workshop in Leeds on the 27th of March. This workshops will help delegates to get a better understanding of the scope of the competitions, as well as the competition process, rules and how to apply. Biosciences KTN representatives will be on hand to help with any queries related to the competition and to explain how the Biosciences KTN can help applicants with the process. More >
